This is a simple and easy recipe for tofu lover. The recipe only requires 3 ingredients and it only takes a couple of minutes to cook. An easy peasy lemon squeezy recipe suitable for busy professionals or family with kids. The Viking Boy absolutely loves it, especially when I serve it with a portion of homemade potato chips!

Some nutritional facts about tofu:-

Tofu is a good source of protein and contains all eight essential amino acids. It is also an excellent source of iron and calcium and the minerals manganese, selenium and phosphorous. In addition, tofu is a good source of magnesium, copper, zinc and vitamin B1. (BBC Good Food)

INGREDIENTS

  • Organic Non-GMO Hard Tofu
  • Teriyaki Sauce (For healthier option-choose a low salt version.)
  • Coconut Oil (I used coconut oil for the extra punch of coconutty taste. This can be substituted with other oil.)

METHOD

  • Cut the tofu block 2-3 thinner pieces. Depending on how thick your tofu block is and how thick you want your tofu steak to be.
  • Marinate the tofu in Teriyaki sauce for 2-3 hours. Flipping side in between so that the tofu is marinated on both sides. The longer you leave the tofu to marinate the better.
  • Heat up a frying pan. Put some coconut oil in the pan.
  • Fry your tofu steak on both sides when the coconut oil is warm enough.
  • Serve with your favorite salad, potato or sweet potato chips. Any side dishes that you like.
